My Weekly Diary

I'm a new Councillor, and I'm often asked what is involved

In the last week I've attended Full Council meeting;
had a meeting with my fellow ward Councillors about Community Chest funding;
met with Planning Officers about specific planning applications in my ward;
attended Blog training -which I'm now trying to put into practice;
attended an event to celebrate the award of Fairtrade Borough Status to Welwyn Hatfield (which is really great news);
and read/answered so many emails, and read many Council Papers.

Bit of a quiet week really!!

I did manage a bit of RnR at the weekend when I had my birthday treat from my lovely friends-one night's stay at Champneys!

I'm now renewed and ready for this week!

Tomorrow- Tuesday 18th- is a sad day for Handside, as our much loved Post Office in Marsden Road is being forced to close. This despite huge objection from local residents, many of whom are elderly. We have emailed, written, marched, and rallyed. So far to no avail. But we won't give up!

Brand new blog

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog.
This is a bit of an experiment - my first attempt at blogging!!
Bear with me during the next few weeks while I see how it goes.
